Let’s get right into this… Here’s a hand full of players that played a very major role in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl Run.
10. Ryan Succop Kicker
Succop went 28/31 from FG and 52/57 from PAT. I genuinely don’t think we win that first Atlanta game and that Giants game without him, Succop seems to have appeared to break the curse of the kickers in Tampa Bay as he was bringing back flashes of Bucs great Martin Gramatica & Matt Bryant being very clutch when he was needed the most and having that feeling like kicks would be blown and drives by the offense would’ve failed has come down by 75% & Succop has the highest percentage so far then the last several at this position.
9. Antoine Winfield – Safety
as a rookie, Winfield had 2 picks 3 FFs 3 Sacks, and 94 Combined tackles 3rd on the team, and 6 pass breakups. Became the top ballhawk and a sneaky cheetah when it comes to blitzing and has really intriguing and exciting pieces for this Super Bowl and the ones to come. You wouldn’t expect this from a rookie to just step into this role but his father was a 14-year veteran at this very position, Antoine learned everything from his pops and quite frankly was robbed this season for some of the defensive rookie of the year nods.
8. Carlton Davis – Cornerback
besides the chiefs game immaculate he has the most PD since 2019 with 37 and is looking as a top 10 and top 5 soon. He had 4 picks and 18 PD and had a career-high in tackles with 68. Came up with a huge interception against the Giants, Plus he had a game-winning interception against the Chargers. Many have tried to give Davis some fault but he’s starting to come around very nicely as a CB and more matured in that secondary as a veteran.
